THE DRAMA QUEEN

Location: Indianapolis @ the Final Four for NCAA Men's Basketball.

With 1 second left in the game, Brett Anderson is about to shoot two free-throws after a hard foul where he smashed his head into the ground during the fall. Anderson's team, The Eagles are down by 1.

Meanwhile; Josh, Darek, and Krent watch the drama through their 20" TV in the living room excited for their home town Eagles.

The replay shows the impact of the hit that Anderson just took in slow motion. There wasn't much contact after all despite the reaction from Anderson.

Krent: "Ask him if he is turning into a girl" (He says mockingly while he points out the referee checking on Anderson.)

Josh: (Avid Eagles fan) "Ugh, just when I thought he buried his acting career. I don't get why he repeatedly is this dramatic. Just play the game man!"

Chris opens the doors and rushes in taking off his bike helmet.

Chris: "Has he shot the free-throws yet??!?! (He says in a panic as he runs up to the screen)
I was listening to it on my phone while booking it home from work! Is he okay??! Hope everything is solid!"

Krent: "Oh, please he is fine" (He says unimpressed)

Chris looks confused

Darek: "Yeah, he didn't really hit is head, you know how he gets. Has to make everything all about him.

Chris: Ugh, he has got to focus!

Josh: "Exactly... he has to be huge here" (He says as all their faces draw tighter to the screen in anticipation as the referee tosses Anderson the ball to shoot his first free throw)

Announcer through the television draws quiet as Anderson releases the first shot...

Swish!

Collective cheers erupt from the living room!

Krent: I knew he was fine!

Darek: Let's Go!

Chris: C'mon Brett! One more!!!

Brett receives the ball from the referee, takes his three dribbles, and looks up at the rim. He takes a deep breath.

Josh: This is killing me man!

Brett Anderson begins his shot and every breath in the living room is being held. The ball glides out of his hand and into the air...

Clank.

Overtime.

Doc Subject #3
Darren Miller

Darren was in my graduating class at High School and I played football with him for 6 years for Bremen. He was probably the best athlete in our grade. Darren fought through a lot of injuries throughout his career, but still went on to play for Anderson University. In his freshman year he fractured his C4 vertebrae in his neck, nearly becoming paralyzed. He fought and scrapped his way through rehab, but is never allowed to play football again. So he took up his second love of UFC, but the limitations in his neck have forced him to withdraw from competing. Today he has his own business called "The Lion's Den" where he trains UFC fighters.

QUESTIONS:

How were you able to overcome so many injuries especially your neck injury?
What draws you to UFC?
How active can you be in training your fighters?
Where are you hoping to take your business?
Do you have a vision or motto with The Lion's Den?
What was the hardest thing to achieve in getting your business started?
Has it grown since you began?
Do your fighters sign contracts, or how does that work?
Can anyone join, or what criteria do you look for?
How does your income work?

Music Video Analysis

Judah & The Lion

"Rich Kids"

I absolutely love this music video and the energy is brings. It definitely captures the energy of the song and the lyrics in the song. The song conveys the meaning that money isn't needed to be "rich". Richness can be found in the small things and the joys of living and enjoying life. This is definitely a mix between all three of the music video types and that helps keep things interesting and lively. The shots are very warm and energetic and make everything seem so fun and happy. It helps that it is a young group of guys as well!

Brainstorm

Music Video

"Looking Back & Forth"

It's the things in life that you thought were stable, that hurt most when they change.

Using Judah & The Lion's song "Everything Changes" (with permission from band) I would work to create a video that emulates what the lyrics in the song speak to. That is, how things can change so quickly when it feels like they have been one way for so long. The only solid ground being in Jesus, because He doesn't change, He isn't moved. My aim in this video would be to show a person that is reminiscing on his or her old days & doing some flashbacks to old home videos and incorporating that nostalgia feel with some emotion.

Documentary

"Huff & Puff"

Handcrafted Longboards using only reclaimed, recycled, and sustainable materials.

I know a guy that I went to High School with that has started is one business crafting and selling longboards called "Huff & Puff". He is a very aware guy that has a pretty sweet vision and it would be neat to get to know what brought about his desire for this business and how it is going since it is an early start-up, but seems to have really good potential. Also, he would let me use his GoPro to shoot some of the shots most likely which would be a plus! This would be similar to the sample video we saw in class of the motorbike / brewing company.

Narrative

"Check Mate"

When the game isn't just a game anymore.

Magical, mythical, un-real things seem to grab attention… well mine anyways. The story line would be something with a chess game becoming real life action (kinda like in Harry Potter) except it would be a normal chess game until there had to be a player removed in which there would take place a "FINISH HIM!" scenario where one player would behead, shoot, or blow up the other player. This could be taken in more of a comical fashion, or evil and horror.

Self-Portrait and BIO

Hey y'all!

My name is Benjamin Chason Hueni (He-Knee). I have always loved media, in basically every form. Like mentioned in class, I have experience with Premiere from a prior class and shooting and editing wedding videos, as well as product videos for my job. I really enjoy working with video and Premiere is very easy and fun to work with.

Movies: Lone Survivor, Dumb and Dumber, The Hobbit trilogy.

TV Shows: The Office, Parks and Rec, Prison Break, Friday Night Lights

Music: Indie/Folk/Acoustic - The Lumineers, Ben Howard, The Head & The Heart, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors.
Christian Rap - LeCrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, KB, Andy Mineo

I would LOVE to make music videos, or direct them if there were no restrictions or budgets. Scenes with good music and beautiful shots of creation are something I will never get past. It draws me. As far as goals, I am more geared toward design, weather it be web design or any kind of marketing really. I would love to do some kind of advertising in my future.

Thanks for reading!
